Graduated Rate Estates - Tax Rates for 2024

Graduated Rate Estates, with their off-calendar years, create an issue for us this year. They get the same tax brackets as individuals. However, we are seeing assessments using an Alberta low rate of 10% (not the 8% that CRA (https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/frequently-asked-questions-individuals/canadian-income-tax-rates-individuals-current-previous-years.html) and our software knows to be current.

Neither our software nor CRA's processing reflects the proposed 14.5% Federal rate yet, and it's not law yet either.

I don't think objecting to every one of these returns is desirable, but it may be the only way to protect the GREs as we can't be sure CRA will proactively reassess. The recent CGE issue further erodes any confidence in this regard. Perhaps someone at CRA will see this and suggest a communication on this matter (plenty of other items we could use some direct communication on already posted on this discussion board).
