Cockfield Memorial Symposium: Tax Sovereignty in a Digital and Divided World

Starts:  Sep 26, 2025 00:00 (ET)
Ends:  Sep 27, 2025 23:59 (ET)

Join us in memory of Professor Arthur Cockfield

The event brings together leading tax scholars from Canada, the United States, New Zealand, England, Portugal, and Poland, along with distinguished tax practitioners, policymakers, and a Member of Parliament.

The symposium is held in memory of the late Professor Art Cockfield, a beloved member of the Canadian tax community and one of the world’s leading tax scholars, who passed away suddenly in 2022. This event is generously supported by IFA Canada, the Canadian Tax Foundation, Osgoode Hall Law School, and the Faculty of Law at Queen’s University. Selected papers will be published in a special issue of the Canadian Tax Journal. Draft papers and presentation slides will be made available to all registered participants.

While in-person participation is at full capacity, we warmly invite students, academics, and professionals to join us virtually for this important and inspiring event.
