Green Tech Working Group's sends several recommendations to the Department of Finance and the CRA for tax credits surrounding clean-tech initiatives.
CPA Canada and its Green Tech Working Group (GTWG) recently put forth several recommendations to the federal government on its clean technology initiatives. Established in 2023, the GTWG's goal is to provide comments and feedback both to the Department of Finance and the CRA to help with the administration of clean economy investment tax credits and shape the roll out of these programs.
The GTWG's membership includes John Oakey, CPA Canada's VP of Tax and Ryan Minor, CPA Canada's Director of Tax as well as other professionals that specialize in clean technology incentives.
After diving deep into the initiatives, the group made seven recommendations surrounding the Clean Technology Investment Tax Credit and the Clean Technology Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit with the aim to make future legislation more precise and specific and to ensure nothing is missed.
